So who am I? Well that’s a little personal don’t you think! I am a Chief Cardiac Physiologist and I specialise in Cardiac Rhythm Management, Invasive Cardiology and Electrophysiology. I am now into my 9th year in the NHS and have seen more than anyone should or would want to. I have worked in small district general hospitals, big tertiary centres and I have worked as a locum. I’ve worked closely with industry representatives, helped with ongoing research and spent many hours helping to train students and junior staff.
So why start a blog? Why not!?
In all seriousness most people have never heard of Cardiac Physiologists, and have no idea what we do as a profession, and more crucially there is a significant national shortage of trained physiologists. Therefore I would like to try and raise the profile of our wonderful profession, encourage the younger generations to consider training and to educate other healthcare workers and doctors to exactly what we do, how we can help them and how they can help us.
Not an easy task by any means. I would like to make this as interactive as possible, so please contact me if there is something specific you would like me to write about. Any question you would like me to answer, or if you wish to write a guest post.
All the best
